Trey + Katie • Wedding at Eberley Brooks

Katie and Trey's wedding was extra special for us because Trey is my cousin and we love them so! It was a big honor to me that they would choose us as their photographers- and of course made us want to work that much harder. Shooting this wedding was a complete pleasure- it's not often that our own kids show up while we are working (thanks Mom and Dad!)- but Katie's family and friends were also so wonderful and fun.

Lubbock decided to have 40 mph winds the day of their wedding, so I was extra thankful for the beautiful interior of Eberley Brooks Event Center. It is so perfectly set up. My mom and many helpers worked hard on all of the florals, and the bridesmaids even made their own bouquets the night before- and it all turned out so beautifully.

Mostly, though- and this is the part I enjoy about getting to see Katie and Trey often, because it hasn't changed since their wedding day- I loved getting to see how perfectly these two go together. Katie looks at Trey just the way you would hope a bride would look at her groom. There is a peaceful hope about her that I just love, and I'm so happy to see the man that Trey has become. They both love Jesus, and I can't wait to see what God does with this new union.

Thank you for the honor, Trey and Katie! Congratulations- we love you!

Ever since I met Carson and Mary a few years back, I totally wanted to shoot their wedding They were both so easygoing and fun- didn't take themselves too seriously and consistently made each other laugh. I've known Carson's family for a while- and just love all of them so much! So, Shawn and I were super excited to get to capture their big day.

It was a gorgeous, perfect autumn day. Carson and Mary said "I do" at Lakeridge Methodist and then had their reception at Eberley Brooks- which is such a beautiful venue! True to their style, the reception was laid back, full of good things to eat, and dancing, of course. We loved getting to photograph it all. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. McCabe!

I felt so honored to get to photograph Evan and Winmarie's wedding day. When I met with them last year, I could tell that hiring me had been something they really thought over and did with intention- which totally makes me want to work my tail off! It was so much fun to get to see them start their marriage. The Legacy was a perfect venue, as always, and many traveled from far away to see them say their vows. Thanks so much for having us, you guys! Congrats!

Love, love, love these guys. I got to do a previous session with them for their Save the Date cards, and I was so looking forward to their Engagement Session. Of course, the day of their shoot, the West Texas winds decided to blow- hard- leaving us with a brown sky and the need for some windblock. Thankfully, Alan + Emerald trusted me and I just love the images we got! They'll be getting married in Cancun next month and I'm so excited for them!

Guess what day they are getting married? :)

This is their puppy, Scout, who was so well behaved!

These two have roots in Lubbock but came up from Dallas to shoot their engagement session- thankfully, we had a beautiful day and they were up for anything! I can't wait to shoot their wedding this May- knowing them, it will be a lot of fun filled with family and friends.

We began our shoot in a dirty alley- no, I am not kidding. The light there was terrific- and they totally worked it!

Thank you guys for a wonderful shoot!

I was so excited to hang out with Tyler and Mary Kate before their wedding in November. They are both super cool and easy to talk to. We had a beautiful day to shoot their engagement session, which began at Texas Tech, where Tyler proposed. This was also the day I realized Lubbock actually has a rush hour- it took us way longer than it should have to get to our next location- but it was totally worth it! Thanks so much you guys- I had a great time!

Mary Kate, you're gorgeous!

Shaun + Elizabeth were married on a gorgeous day in August at FUMC Lubbock. Their reception was held at the Lubbock Women's Club, and it was such a wonderful event. Everything was so perfectly planned and executed- which is a testament to Shaun and Elizabeth themselves. It was such an honor to document their day- and a lot of fun, too! Here are some of my favorites.

Weding Gown: MoriLee

Groom + Groomsmen's Clothing: Calvin Klein- Men's Wearhouse

Bridesmaids' Dresses: David's Bridal

Florist: Patti Weaver- Market Street Floral

Cake: CAKE Cupcakes

Caterer: Lubbock Women's Club

DJ: Music to the Maxx

Hair: Carmen at Sophisticuts

Makeup: Michelle at Panache

Both of them selected their first look as the most memorable moment of their day.

She said, "I'll never forget how nervous I was walking into the church to see Shaun. After I saw him everything melted away and I was ready for our Big Day...I became completely relaxed afterward. We exchanged our wedding gifts to each other and had a special moment with each other. I don't really remember the music played or cake cutting, but I'll never forget the 5 minutes I got to spend alone with my husband on our day. "

He said, "It relived all my nerves that had been building all day."

Each table at the reception held a frame with a chapter of their lives written in it- from the time they first met to buying their first home.

They went to Boston, New Hampshire, and Maine on their honeymoon. Sounds wonderful! Congrats you two!

Shaun + Elizabeth also had the Fancy Booth at their reception, so stay tuned for that post!

I had anticipated this wedding for a long time, since Sarah booked me almost a year in advance. I knew that A) Sarah was quite the organized bride, and B) this would be a fun wedding since she'd already told me about their milk + cookies favors. Yum! I had a great time with these two at their engagement session in the fall and was so blessed by them on their wedding day. I couldn't get over the gorgeous plum color of the bridesmaids' dresses and how everything coordinated so smoothly. The Merket Alumni Center was the perfect venue for their big day.

Wedding Gown: Brides of Amarillo

Tuxedos: Men's Wearhouse

Florist: The Market Plaza Flowers

Cake: Mylinda Wood

Catering: Top Tier Catering

Venue: Merket Alumni Center

DJ: Music to the Maxx

Hair: Angie Lewellyn of The Tobacco Leaf

Photobooth: Four Frames Photobooths

This was a first! The bridesmaid on the far left works for the Ringling Brothers Circus and provided all the ladies with a clown nose. Awesome!

When you get married at the Merket Alumni Center or the Frazier Alumni Pavilion, you get a brick in the courtyard with your names and wedding date on it. Stephen and Sarah came up with this sign that read "Forever Set".

I asked Sarah what the most memorable moment about her day was and this was her response:

"The entire day was amazing so it's hard to choose just a moment. The ceremony was amazing and nothing beat finally seeing Stephen at the ceremony. We were both so nervous so it was fun when my Pastor lightened things up - after all I think everyone witnessed and remembered Stephen saying 'and I'll do anything she says'."

I hardly ever post family portraits, but this is exactly the type of image that I love to capture for families. Pretty light, outside, everyone is relaxed- not in some dark sanctuary where all you see is carpet. :)

Sarah created these custom made milk cartons, which they stuffed with Oreos. Yum!

Four Frames Photobooths were there and there was a constant buzz around the booth. Everyone loved it!

Stephen surprised Sarah by pulling out a GIANT pair of pink leopard undies instead of a garter. It was hilarious.

I can't remember his first name- maybe Troy? I hadn't worked with him before, but this DJ was super great- kept everyone entertained and the music pumping.

Sarah's advice for future brides:

"Enjoy every moment. We had a long engagment which gave us time to enjoy it and add some fun details. We had so much fun designing our save the dates, invitations and creating all the details. Last advice would be to recruit lots of help for the wedding day. We had so many amazing friends and family members that came to help set up which allowed my bridal party, parents and I to really enjoy the morning and hours leading up to the wedding."

Congrats you guys!
